Projects

Below are just a small sample of some of the recent projects that Latimer Planning has been involved in:

1.       Conversion of a  Courtyard of Farm Buildings to Commercial Units

The client had a large courtyard of derelict farm buildings of historical importance located in a sensitive landscape in the open countryside. Planning permission was achieved for the conversion of these buildings to 8 commercial units.

 2.        New Build Residential

The site comprised of a single detached bungalow located on the edge but outside of the development boundary of an attractive Cotswold town. This project involved the extension of the settlement boundary and planning permission was granted for the demolition of the existing property and its replacement with 6 residential properties.

 3.       Change of Use of Existing Commercial Premises

This involved the subdivision of existing commercial premises from A1 (Retail) to A3 (Finance & Professional Services) contrary to existing local plan policy and recent precedent within the locality.

 4.       New build Residential Houses

Latimer Planning was commissioned to identify suitable sites for residential development within the West Midlands connurbation. An area of rear garden land was identified and a detailed planning consent was granted for 24 houses.

 5.       Holiday Lodges

The site comprised of open pasture land in an area of landscape protection. The proposal was to provide  12No quality tourist lodges together with the creation of a new lake feature and a hydro electric plant.

 6.       Change of Use to Care Facilities

This involved the conversion of an existing office premises (B1) to Care Facilities (C2).

 7.       Retrospective Permission

The client had converted an existing barn into a four bedroom house without planning permission in an area of landscape constraint and in the  Green Belt. A case was put forward that the proposal was an ‘exception’ to green belt policy and planning consent was achieved.

 8.       Extension to Domestic Cottage

The property was a small 17th century cottage located within an attractive village and in a conservation area. Planning permission was granted for a contemporary extension doubling the internal accommodation.

9.       Appeal

This was an enforcement appeal concerning both the unlawful erection of the structure and also the use of the premises for commercial activities.
